The Ernest Shonekan Centre is a research and consulting organisation specialising in promoting legislative and regulatory reforms for achieving economic competitiveness and improving the business environment.
The Centre is a response to the need for structure, organisation, coordination and leadership in the national and subnational efforts to improve the business environment and investment climate in Nigeria. The Ernest Shonekan Centre for Legislative Reforms and Economic Development was esAbtablished by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group.

To Champion transformative reforms and drive behavioural change among stakeholders in the legislative, judicial and regulatory space, positioning ourselves as a leading think tank in Africa, fostering an inclusive, competitive and thriving business environment and economy.
Our Mission
To serve as a knowledge platform aggregating and deploying research and advocacy for developing a rules-based enabling business environment by promoting the regulatory, legislative and judicial reforms that enable sustainable economic development.
Our milestones
Technical Support on the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020, Secured Transactions in Movable Assets Act, 2017, Credit Reporting Act,2 017, Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023, Plant Variety Act, 2021, Annual Capacity Building for the Judiciary on ‘The Role of the Bench in Nigeria’s Economic Growth and Development.’
